Behind Closed Doors (BCD) was established in Otley

Behind Closed Doors (BCD) was established in Otley, a North West suburb of Leeds, in 1997 by a group of local women, with personal and professional experience of domestic violence and abuse (DV&A).  They were concerned about the lack of specialist services in the West and North West Leeds area.  Initially run by volunteers within the community – with the support of local organisations and councillors – BCD ran a helpline for 2 hours a week, giving support and advice to women experiencing DV&A and support and information to local agencies.
