Supporting Behind Closed Doors
There are many ways to offer support to Behind Closed Doors. Our organisation relies on the generosity and support of our partners, funders, stakeholders, supporters, Volunteers and also those people who simply feel compelled to help in some way. Without them, we would not be able to continue our important work.
Behind Closed Doors recognises the tremendous value that Volunteers bring to the organisation in carrying out the aims of the project and in supporting the people we work with. Volunteers are an essential link in offering an end-to-end support service to people who are, or have, experienced domestic violence and abuse.
We do our best to provide a placement that meets the needs of Behind Closed Doors but that also suits the needs of the Volunteer. To achieve this we do ask that Volunteers commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week (in a single block) for a minimum of 6 months after completing training and supported visits. Volunteers in the Prevention and Recovery Service (PARS) focus on delivering emotional and low-level practical support direct to people who are assessed as low/medium risk:
Without your help, Behind Closed Doors cannot provide the vital information, support and services that help hundreds of people every year.
