We are pleased to offer Training for Trainers course which includes all the useful content from our popular two day course with lots of additional and relevant material. The LIAP Women and Violence Trust provides two highly skilled trainers with many years of practice and training experience to deliver our Training for Trainers courses.
Course Aims:
· To improve participants' understanding of the relevant information, models and theories required to plan and deliver basic multi agency Awareness and Good Practice Domestic Violence Training in a range of settings.
· To gain the research and group work skills required to plan and deliver basic multi agency Awareness and Good Practice Domestic Violence Training.
Target Audience:
It is aimed at those who have a good understanding of domestic violence and who deliver training in this field. Participants should ideally have some training experience and/or presentation skills. It will be suitable for those who deliver training as part of their work or who deliver training on a full time basis. Some participants may also be responsible for training in related areas such as equality and diversity, community safety, survivor empowerment or child/adult protection. The course will also help those who have a strategic or developmental role who want to increase their knowledge of domestic violence.
Participants will also receive extensive information related to training skills, research and key concepts including new content and materials on:
· More on understanding the models and gender inequality.
· Extended focus on understanding and tackling issues of discrimination in the context of domestic abuse.
· Issues relevant to women who perpetrate violence and male victims (contextualised within a gendered model).
· Exploring useful terminology in domestic violence training.
· Learning theories, planning and materials used in domestic violence training.
In addition, the course includes the popular elements from our two day course to help participants develop their analytical thinking, presentation, facilitation and group work skills.
This training is offered to a group of at least 6 and a maximum of 12 participants. It works well for either a multi-agency or single agency group.
Any organisation considering this course should consider how participants will be selected, assessed, supervised and supported.
