Providing support to people in the Leeds District whose lives have been affected by Domestic Violence and Abuse
About Behind Closed Doors
We are extremely grateful to the organisations and individuals who support Behind Closed Doors, This includes our funders, grant providers and donors as well as the many organisations with whom we work. For more information, click on Partnerships under the Who We Are tab.
Behind Closed Doors has a dedicated and professional team who will aim to assist anyone who is, or has, suffered from domestic violence and abuse.
Behind Closed Doors was established in 1997 in North West Leeds and now supports women and men across the Leeds district who have, or are, experiencing domestic violence and abuse.
We have a Community Domestic Violence Team which works within the Leeds Domestic Violence Service (LDVS), supporting people assessed as being at medium/high risk and/or needing help with significant practical issues like housing and civil legal proceedings.
Our Prevention and Recovery Service (PARS) workers and trained volunteers support people at low to medium risk levels (current, recent or past relationships), focussing more on psychological/emotional recovery and low-level practical help. Where appropriate we offer support to promote whole-family healing.
We are always interested to hear from anyone wanting to consider joining our Board of Trustees. For more information, please click on Trustees under the Who We Are tab.
